With the vision of self-reliant thinking, domestic investment, and internal institutional manpower, the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project has been implemented for a period of 10 years from the fiscal year 2073/74 to 2082/83 as a supportive project for the implementation of the Agricultural Development Strategy. It envisions the modernization of the agricultural sector through activities such as ensuring necessary technology and production inputs for agricultural production, mechanization in crop and livestock production, and development of necessary infrastructure for processing and marketing, with a clear roadmap to increase production and productivity in the agricultural sector. Today, it is necessary to transform the subsistence-oriented agriculture sector into a professional, competitive, and respectable occupation to create employment opportunities and make the overall national economy more dynamic. All sectors need to emphasize transforming the agricultural profession into a commercial and industrialized one in order to achieve the national goal of poverty reduction. Due to the inability to increase the area, production, and productivity of food and high-value cash crops as per the need, the import of agricultural commodities has been increasing day by day, while the volume of exports has been shrinking, resulting in a highly imbalanced overall trade deficit of the country....
